Welcome to the Friends of the Hospitals website. We appreciate your interest in learning more about the Friends Group.
The Friends Group was formed to support the Stanford University Medical Center Renewal Project. As discussed elsewhere on the website, the hospitals need to modernize their facilities to address state mandated earthquake code requirements, to increase the number of beds, and to meet the space requirements of modern medicine. The proposed plans to improve and expand both hospitals will greatly enhance healthcare services for the community.
We have agreed to co-chair the Friends of the Hospitals Group. We both believe we are truly fortunate to have the Stanford Medical Center so close to home. We support the hospitals’ efforts to build state-of-the-art facilities in order to be ready for future medical advances.
We encourage you to join the Friends Group. By working together, we can maintain and improve the world-class medical facility we have in Palo Alto.
